TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan`s Team for Accelerated Development (TGUPP) has been accused of failing to realize high-profile programs promised by Anies Baswedan in Jakarta’s 2017 Gubernatorial election campaign.

Trisakti University’s urban management expert Nirwono Joga said that the TGUPP failed to translate Anies’ programs to the city’s regional working units (SKPD) which could have helped the governor’s program to be executed-well in the field.

“Ironically, our friends in the TGUPP were unable to bridge the gap. Even though the team’s only task is to do just that,” said Joga to Tempo on Monday, October 8.

Anies Baswedan formed the TGUPP that consist of 73 expert members in their field of work, such as city developments, coastline management, corruption prevention, and regulatory harmonization. The team was formed by Governor Anies under Governor’s Decree No. 453/2018 and is led by Amin Subekti.

Joga was once invited by the TGUPP upon discussing matters related to river normalization and a city park, however, Joga deemed the meeting was a direct reflection of the governor’s ill-prepared programs since its inception.

Three well-known programs offered by Anies Baswedan in the election that Joga said has not been fully-optimized is the zero-percent down payment program, OK OTrip for the city’s transportation program, and the OK OCE (One Kecamatan, One Center of Entrepreneurship).
