PAN to Put Down Ratna Sarumpaet`s Issue, Focus on Election

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Mandate Party (PAN) secretary general Eddy Soeparno was adamant to not add any more comments regarding the public lies and deceit spread by Ratna Sarumpaet, former campaign manager for Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno.
“Since she confessed it was all lies, we chose not to dig deeper. It is too time and energy-consuming,” said Eddy when Tempo called him on Friday, October 5.
Eddy acknowledged the fact that the hoax Ratna Sarumpaet spread had disarranged the focus of Prabowo Subianto’s camp. He also said that Ratna’s hoax will eventually affect the electorate consideration in the near future.
“Of course there will be an effect,” he said.
Despite his pessimism, Eddy is sure that the embarrassing incident will not affect the outcome of the 2019 presidential election since Prabowo’s coalition still have five months to attract voters.
He further explained that swing voters will not be affected by the controversy produced by Ratna Sarumpaet.
