TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Arsul Sani, the deputy chair of the Indonesian Work Coalition (KIK) National Campaign Team, said that vice presidential candidate Ma'ruf Amin will focus on winning votes on the island of Sumatra.
“Kiai Ma'ruf will have more roles in provinces where—according to survey—Pak Jokowi's [work] is seen less than satisfactory by the people. Sumatera for example,” Arsul said here on Friday, September 14.
Arsul said that Jokowi and Ma'ruf will take on different segments of voters. For example, he said, Jokowi will focus on millennial voters.
“But it doesn't mean that Kiai Ma'ruf will not say hi to urban millennials,” he said.
According to 2014's presidential elections data collected by the General Election Commission (KPU), Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla lost votes from Prabowo subianto and Hatta Rajasa in several provinces on Sumatra island—especially in Aceh and West Sumatera.
