TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The head of Muhammadiyah youth wing (PP Pemuda Muhammadiyah), Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, has challegenged vice presidential hopeful Sandiaga Uno to fight against political bandits in the upcoming 2019 presidential race.

Dahnil delivered the challenge when Sandiaga paid a visit to the Muhammadiyah Da’wah Center in Menteng, Central Jakarta, today.

"I challenged the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno pair to combat political bandits practically, rather than technically," Dahnil told journalists.

Sandiaga has accepted the challence, saying he was upbeat that his camp would introduce programs that would side with the people.

Dahnil said the public had had enough of leaders pledging brighter economic future, thus he asked Sandiaga to better his skills and integrity as a leader to deal with real problems in the society.

Dahnil also dismissed suspicions that the visit was Sandiaga Uno's effort to canvass for the latter's vice presidential bid. He said throwing weight behind any presidential pair was not part of his organization's capacity.
