TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The party coalition supporting Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno assigned a special task force to revalidate voter data following its finding of 25 million double voter data in the temporary voter`s list (DPS) of 2019 election.
“We have formed a task force that will be responsible in reviewing voter data,” said Eddy Soeparno, a secretary-general of National Mandate Praty (PAN), in Jakarta, Thursday, September 6.
According to Eddy, the coalition would coordinate with the General Election Commission (KPU) and Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs on the measure.
“Dukcapil must proactively partake in the matter, so later on, KPU can distribute accurate data to the regions,” he said.
Eddy deemed an indication of double voter data was crucial for the election considering the number was pretty significant. However, he was reluctant to speculate which party behind the issue.
As reported earlier, Prabowo-Sandiaga coalition found as many as 25,410,615 double voters from the final voter's list (DPT) received by the party at 137,356,266 voters.
Eddy mentioned his team found one name with seven data in the same voting station (TPS) and another name emerged four times in different places. “That’s one of our findings from our review as to make sure if the data should be revalidated thoroughly in a bid to gain data that can be accepted by all parties,” he added.
