Govt Explains Reason of Nicke Widyawati`s Naming as Pertamina CEO

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Deputy of Mining Business, Strategic Industry and Media, Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Fajar Harry Sampurno, explained the reason for choosing Nicke Widyawati as the new Pertamina President Director. There were several processes before Nicke's CEO naming.


“To be the SOE President Director, [one] must meet the requirement of the independent audit assessment,” said Fajar at his office, Wednesday, August 29.


Fajar explained the candidate must meet several requirements to become a Pertamina CEO. It will be followed by the evaluation of the track record, he added.


The SOE picked several candidates including Nicke based on the General Meeting of Shareholders. Then, the candidate's names were given to President Joko Widodo to be considered and chosen.


Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati denied any political reason behind her CEO naming.
