Gerindra: Prabowo Meets Gatot, Discusses Campaign Team

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gerindra Party Secretary-General Ahmad Muzani said that Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto had discussed the offer to join the campaign team with the former Indonesian National Army Commander Gatot Nurmantyo.
“The communication was good, Pak Prabowo has met [with Gatot],” said Muzani in front of Prabowo’s house, Jalan Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, Monday night, August 27.
Muzani said the structure and names that would fill the Prabowo - Sandiaga campaign team were still being discussed and would be filled by representatives of parties and national figures.
“Later [we will inform the names]. All those who can contribute to improve this nation, we will ask them [to join],” said Muzani.
Gatot Nurmantyo has not stated his support in the 2019 presidential election. On the other hand, two volunteers who previously proposed Gatot as a presidential or vice presidential candidate had split.
The Selendang Putih Nusantara volunteer decided to support Prabowo - Sandiaga, while the volunteer of Gatot Nurmantyo for the People (GNR) chose Jokowi - Ma'ruf Amin. Both groups later changed its name to the National Guard for the People.
