TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta deputy governor Sandiaga Uno expressed concerned about the cases of prostitution at Kalibata City Apartments. Sandiaga asked apartment owners to be more careful when renting.
"Be careful when leasing apartment units; make sure that there is no drug dealing or prostitution practices in the neighborhood," he said here on Wednesday, August 8.
Sandiaga warned that property prices will plummet if there are drugs and prostitution practices in the areas and buildings. If that happens, the economy will be affected, and job opportunities will be lost.
To prevent similar crimes from happening, Sandiaga makes sure that he will continue to coordinate with the police—especially for the prostitution in Kalibata City, something which he is familiar with.
"I have received reports repeatedly about prostitution in Kalibata City,” he said.
On August 2 last week, the Jakarta Metro Police uncovered the prostitution business that took place at Kalibata City Apartment's Flamboyan Tower. The police held a bust and arrested three suspects, including the person acting as the pimp.
