Presidential Election; Prabowo Focuses on Populist Economy

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A member of the Communication Board of the Gerindra Party Central Board (DPP) Andre Rosiade said Prabowo Subianto has reached 80 percent in formulating his presidential vision and mission.
“Hopefully, it (the formulation of the vision and mission) will be complete tonight,” Andre told Tempo, Tuesday, August 7.
According to Andre, Prabowo focuses on the populist economy as it has been delivered frequently. He added that the Gerindra chairman wants to prioritize the economy in accordance with Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.
Prabowo also concerns the state debt, foreign labor, and economic inequality issues, including the current president and vice president's working period. He frequently mentioned the exploitation of natural resources and the money politics in general elections.
Andre said Prabowo’s vision and mission were formulated by four secretaries general and the team of coalition party members, namely Gerindra party, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the National Mandate Party (PAN), and the Democrat Party. He said it would be announced to the public in detail when Prabowo and his vice presidential candidate declare their candidacy.
