TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The State Civilian Bureaucracy Commission (KASN) specifically demanded Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan lifted his decision on pensioning off several city officials. The request was part of its recommendation considering the governor violated the existing law over reshuffle regional employees.

KASN claimed the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) had agreed to postpone the letter issuance that noting the retirement of several city officials before 60 years old. Anies Baswedan inked the regulation for several mayors during the official reshuffle on July 5, 2018.

KASN commissioner I Made Suwandi said the process would be delayed and that the city officials had rights to receive their salary since they were not officially retired yet.

“BKN agrees to hold it [the regulation], so their salary should be given because they’re not retired yet,” Made explained, Monday, August 6.

The former mayor of East Jakarta, Bambang Musyawardana, experienced the dismissal and the retirement issue, along with the former mayor of West Jakarta, Anas Effendi.

In the letter received by Anas Effendi, his new position after July 5, 2018, was a retiree. The reason was due to his 58-year-old age.

Anas had made complaints on the matter. He referred to the Law on civil services regarding the retirement period of officials echelon 1 and 2. It was stipulated that Anas would be a retiree in May 2019 in the age of 60 years.

“But Pak Anies said it will be managed by the regional secretary,” said Anas in a phone call with Tempo on July 17.

Bambang Musyawardana also conveyed a similar situation. He, inaugurated as mayor by the past Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok in 2015, would be retired on first October 2018. However, the reshuffle position ratified by Anies Baswedan on July 5, 2018, noted his dismissal as well as the retirement.
