Idrus Marham Answers KPK Summon over PLTU Riau Bribery

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party former sec-gen Idrus Marham answered the second summon of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding the alleged bribery in the Riau 1 steam power plant (PLTU) project. Idrus, currently the Social Minister, arrived in KPK at 10:00 am.
“I’m here today for further investigation. I’ll explain it when it’s over,” said Idrus in KPK building, Jakarta, Thursday, July 26.
KPK suspected there was money delivered to Golkar party politician in the PLTU Riau 1 project. “[The investigation] is still afoot as indications showed up,” said KPK deputy commissioner Saut Situmorang.
Earlier on Thursday, July 19, KPK probed Idrus Marham in light of the case involving the House’s Energy Commissioner Eni Maulani Saragih–Golkar politician who was accused of receiving bribery money worth Rp4.8 billion from Johannes. Eni was arrested at the residence of the minister.
The anti-graft body named Eni Maulana Saragih and Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo as the suspect for allegedly received bribery money to expedite the project deal of PLTU Riau 1.
Saut said KPK was still examining other parties related to the bribery case and that Idrus Marham was summoned as a witness. “But we’ll see it later after the investigation whether his status changes,” Saut added.
