TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto said that Golkar Party contributed to the raising vote of the incumbent candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in most areas of Java.

In the latest survey results from Charta Politika, Jokowi’s electability excels compared Prabowo Subianto and other figures on Java Islands. The survey was conducted in Banten, West Java, Central Java, and East Java. Prabowo only excelled Jokowi in Banten. In West Java, for example, Jokowi won 38.8 percent and Prabowo 30.2 percent.

"It's one of the Golkar Party's contributions because this time Golkar upports the president so that Golkar's pockets are also now choosing Pak Jokowi, which will improve his electability," Airlangga said at the Golkar Party Central Executive Board office in West Jakarta on Saturday, June 9.

Golkar is one party that has expressed its support officially to Jokowi. In addition to Golkar, other supporting parties are PDIP, PPP, Nasdem Party, Hanura Party, PSI, and Perindo.

However, Airlangga said his party has not yet discussed the presidential candidacy. Currently, he said, Golkar concentrates on the winning of the regional election, which will be held on June 27, after Eid Day.

“Our candidates can hopefully excel in the election," he said.
