Garuda Indonesia, Citilink Add 150,000 Seats during Eid Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia and Citilink airlines plan to add more seats for 2018 homecoming period. The Corporate Secretary of Garuda Indonesia Hengki Heriandono said the total of the additional seat is 150,510.
“It consists of 64,100 seats of Garuda Indonesia and 86,400 seats of Citilink,” said Hengki to Tempo on Friday, May 25.
Hengki uttered, frequently, the company added 768 flights that consist of 288 flights for Garuda Indonesia and 480 flights for Citilink. The additional flights are valid on June 8 - 24.
He stated that half of the additional flights had received permission from air transport authorities. Most of the flights depart from Jakarta to Medan; Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Surabaya or Denpasar.
As for international flight, several additional routes are Hong Kong, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur. Hengki explained most of the consumers will buy the tickets ahead of Eid Day. “The booking is usually done after they got their THR (religious holiday allowance),” said Hengki.
Meanwhile, Lion Air Group plans to add 10-15 percent or around 34,000 seats during the 2018 Eid homecoming period; Batik Air to add around 16,000 seats and Wings Air around 7,000 seats.
“[It will be valid] started from 14 days before Eid and ended in 14 days after Eid,” said Corporate Communication of Lion Air Group, Ramaditya Handoko.
Ramadiyta said the average flight route on 2018 Eid is from Cengkareng or Surabaya to Makassar, Denpasar, Kualanamu, Pekanbaru, Padang, Banjarmasin, Palembang, or Balikapapan.
