TEMPO.CO, Banjarmasin - The management of state oil company Pertamina guarantees the fuel supply in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, is safe even though the company`s tanker named Srikandi burned on Friday morning, May 25.

Region Manager Communication and CSR Pertamina Kalimantan Yudy Nugraha stated the company immediately anticipated right after the fire lit so it will not affect the fuel supply. One of the anticipations is by securing the fuel terminal as the main fuel supplier in Banjarmasin and surrounding areas.

Earlier today, the ship of Self Propelled Oil Barge (SPOB) Srikandi was burned at around 2 a.m. local time. The tanker was leaning on the dock of Barito Muara Kuin River, Banjarmasin. There was no casualty upon the incident and all the crew members (ABK) were safe.

"I do not know exactly what caused it, suddenly the tanker was on fire, and the oil spill filled the river channel," said a tugboat captain Sapri Eko, who was at the scene and saw the river was full of fire on Friday, May 25.

Furthermore, Yudy explained the current fuel supply in Banjarmasin Terminal is as much as 9,143 million liters. The fuel consists of 4.6 million liters of diesel, 225,000 liters of Pertamina Dex, 530,000 liters of Premium, 373,000 liters of Pertamax, and 3,515,000 liters of Pertalite.

The next supply, said Yudy, has arrived today in the form of 1,824,000 liters of diesel, 2,957,000 liters of Premium, and 2,058,000 liters of Pertamax.

The fuel delivery will be done today from Kotabaru's fuel terminal as much as 2.7 million liters of Premium, 600,000 liters of Pertamax, and 2.4 million liters of Pertalite, and is expected to arrive at Pertamina's Banjarmasin Fuel Terminal.

Banjarmasin fuel terminal is one of Pertamina's main fuel supply points in South Kalimantan, which has 106 gas stations. Another fuel supply location in South Kalimantan is Kotabaru fuel terminal with 70 million liter tank capacity plus floating storage capacity of 85 million liters.
