TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - This year`s Ramadan marks the second time of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) tourism department organizing the Pesona Khazanah Ramadhan (PKR) at the NTB Islamic Center. Book exhibition is among the series of the PKR 2018`s event.

Thousands of books with various genres, such as religion, novel, children's books, etc., will be exhibited in the Ball Room of NTB Islamic Center.

The book exhibition starts from May 17 to June 10. According to the coordinator Syahwaludin, it provides thousands of titles, with varying price ranges between Rp5,000 to Rp3.2 million.

“There are 25 publishers involved in this exhibition,'' said Syawaluddin. The number is doubled compared to 2017, where only 11 publishers joined the event. The increase in participants is stratified by the increasing interest in reading among the people of NTB.

According to Syahwaludin, books about religion is quite popular in Lombok. The price of books on the island is more expensive than in Jakarta. So, when there are books directly brought from Jakarta as for exhibition purpose, the price is rather cheaper.

"So people are happy and many of them purchasing [the books]," said Syawaludin.
