Sandiaga Uno Wants Data of People Returning from Syria

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno wants the city administration to collect the data of people returning from Syria in anticipation of bomb terror in Indonesia. Sandiaga said Jakarta administration wants to integrate the data of people who went to Syria and return to Indonesia with the police and immigration data.


“We want to reconcile the data owned by the police to ensure the region [Jakarta] is also updated with the latest data,” said Sandiaga Uno at City Hall, Jakarta, Thursday, May 17. Jakarta administration is raising awareness after a series of terrorist attacks in Surabaya and Riau.

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan issued the Governor’s Appeal No. 6 of 2018 on Enhancement of Awareness in the Community. In the appeal, Anies instructed the neighborhood and community units (RT/RW) to stay alert.


Sandiaga Uno said people who have just returned from Syria should be given a special attention. Nevertheless, he said that the attention should not be discriminating.
