DPR Inaugurates Nine KPPU Commissioners for 2017-2022 Period

Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU)

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representative (DPR) has officially inaugurated nine new members of Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) for the period of 2017-2022 in the plenary meeting held at Parliament Complex, Jakarta, today.


The nine names are Yudi Hidayat, Kurnia Toha S.H, Guntur Syahputra Saragih, Kodrat Wibowo, Afif Hasbullah, Ukay Karyadi, Dini Melanie, Chandra Setiawan, and Hary Agustanto.


“Based on the assessment on the vision, mission, and programs offered by the candidates, and considering their background and experiences, all fraction and members of the House’s Commission VI agreed to the decision,” said the chairman of Commission VI Teguh Juwarno as the meeting leader today, April 26.

Nine from 18 candidates, suggested by President Jokowi, was chosen after going through a long recruitment process that involving independent consultant. The name list then will be delivered to the President.


Earlier, KPPU was forced to halt many activities due to the lacking number of the members since February 28, as said by KPPU secretary general Panji Dewanto. The vacancy made all trial and assessment proceedings on the notification of merger and acquisition were halted temporarily.
