TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The news of grief came from the music industry. One of the world's leading Disk Jockey (DJ), Avicii, died on Friday afternoon, April 20, 2018, local time. DJ Avicii died at the age of 28 in Muscat, Oman.
Avicii's death was revealed through a publicist Diana Baron's official statement.
"With deep sadness, we announce the death of Tim Bergling, known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman, Friday afternoon local time on April 20," said Diana Baron as reported by Billboard.
No explanation of the cause of Avicii's death. Diana Baron only asked the public to respect the privacy of the family after the DJ died.
"His family is so sad and we ask everyone to respect their privacy in these difficult times. We will not give any further statement," said Diana Baron.
Avicii became famous in the music industry since 2011. His single 'Levels' successfully topped the charts on his native country, Sweden, and the US charts, Billboard Dance Club Songs. 'Levels' also donated Grammy Awards nominations in Avicii's career.
After the success of Levels, Avicii had released three albums and a number of hits. An example is Wake Me Up! in 2013. Avicii's last album titled Avici (01) was released in August 2017 with the flagship single Lonely Together, the result of his collaboration with Rita Ora.
Avicii is also known for frequent tours in various countries around the world. Even he has visited Indonesia several times. However, DJ Avicii decided to stop touring in 2016 for health reasons.
