In the previous trial, KPK has brought a number of doctors and staffs at Medika Permata Hijau hospital where the convict Setya Novanto went under treatment after having a car accident in November 2017. The witnesses were medical unit head Francia Anggraini; neurologists Djoko Sanjoto Suhud and Nadia Husein Hamedan; cardiologist Mohammad Toyibi; and nurse Indri Astuti.

The prosecutor had also brought Hilman Mattauch, a former contributor to Metro TV and was the person driving Setya's Fortuner B-1732-ZLO in the accident. He has been named as a suspect on charges of driving with negligence and causing injuries to others.

The KPK prosecutor indicted Bimanesh Sutarjo for forging a medical diagnosis document of Setya Novanto which is deemed to obstruct the E-KTP graft case involving Setya. Bimanesh has violated Law No. 20/2001 on Eradication Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1(1) criminal code (KUHP).
