Banyuwangi Art Week Accommodates Youth Creativity

TEMPO.CO, Banyuwangi - Banyuwangi Art Week, the local arts and crafts exhibition, was opened on Thursday, April 12, by Banyuwangi Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas. It will be held at Gedung Seni Budaya (Gesibu) until April 15.


A total of 40 outlets exhibited a variety of arts and craft products. Such as painting, calligraphy, batik, handicraft, souvenir, furniture, and woven bamboo products. There are also processed foods such as muffin, fish sticks, dodol made of fruits, chips, and coffee.

Anas said the event is a government’s support in accommodating the creativity of young people in Banyuwangi. It is also as an effort to introduce a variety of unique handicraft products of Banyuwangi from the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Small and Medium Industry (SMIs) entrepreneurs.


The event has been routinely held since 2013. The event will be enlivened by a stage performance featuring local arts and cultures at night.


The Banyuwangi Art Week is also attended by Mayor of Bukittinggi HM. Ramlan Nurmatias, Mayor of Serang Tubagus Haerul Jaman, Acting Regent of Hulu Sungai Selatan Ardiansyah, Miss Tourism Queen International Indonesia 2018 Revindia Carina and guest of honor Chef Farah Quinn.
