Jatibaru Street in Tanah Abang area in Jakarta.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Secretary General of Indonesia Cyber Jack Lapian said he would not revoke his report to Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan who managed Tanah Abang Market by closing Jatibaru Raya Street.

“I will continue to hold on the law,” said Jack when contacted by Tempo on Sunday, March 4, 2018.

Previously, Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno, said that Jatibaru Raya Street is likely to be reopened for the public in March 2018. The closing which was done by Jakarta Administration since December 2017 had been protested by many.

Jack said he will still submit the legal process to the police. Furthermore, he said, let the police assess whether there will be a crime or not.

According to Jack, the policy of Jakarta Administration that will reopen Jatibaru Raya is not only because of the report that he handed over to the police. Because it is also related to the pressure of various parties directly affected who want the function of the road is returned.

Jack Lapian reported Governor Anies Baswedan about alleged crime closing Jatibaru Raya, to Jakarta Police. The report number is LP/995/II/2018/PMJ Dit Reskrimsus dated February 22, 2018, with Anies Baswedan as Jakarta Governor, allegedly violating Article 12 No. 37 of 2004 on Road.

Jack, the supporter of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok, mentioned that road closure on Jatibaru Raya runs for approximately two months since December 22, 2017, but has no legal protection.

Due to the Jatibaru road closing, Jack Lapian said it raises a new problem because the Jakarta Administration gives freedom to street vendors (PKL) to sell on the road. It triggers a response from the various community as a controversial and contradicts to policy.
