TEMPO.CO, Mataram - Russian investor Inter Rao is offering three business programs for the development of the Bandar Kayangan Global Hub in North Lombok. Another Russian investor, Svetlana, is eyeing to invest in a refinery project, in collaboration with Chinese investors.
Inter Rao’s first offer is to build an oil refinery with 50,000 bpd capacity. The second option is to build an international port for the extra large Panamax-size ships, and the third is to develop power plants with 2×50 MW capacities at the initial stage before further enhancing them to 900 MW.
Meanwhile, Svetlana plans to build a refinery with crude resources coming from Iran, Iraq and Russia--which the company has business agreements with.
“All plans have been discussed in Jakarta and North Lombok on Tuesday, February 20,” says Gita Ariyadi, head of the Investment Office and One-Stop Service Office of West Nusa Tenggara, Thursday.
The provincial government of West Nusa Tenggara and the regency office of North Lombok are seriously planning to fast-track the Bandar Kayangan Global Hub project.
The global hub, once it operates, will serve as the core business of international ports, oil refineries, and independent cities.
