Food Trucks to Serve Free Food during Asian Games

TEMPO.CO, Palembang - Asian Games 2018 will start in the next few months in Jakarta, and Palembang. The three mascots of Asian Games, namely Bhin-bhin (Paradise bird), Atung (Bawean deer), and Kaka (rhinoceros) are displayed along roads of this cities.
The organizing committee has made preparations, such as stadium renovation and tour guide trainings for athletes from 44 countries.

Among the facilities to be provided by the organizing committee are free food trucks. The initiative was pitched by the Palembang Tourism Polytechnic managed by the Tourism MIistry.
The food truches will mobilize in the venues of the games, including Sriwijaya Stadium. The truck will bring in student chefs, who will serve a variety of dishes.
Two food trucks will be deployed on a daily basis. Each of them will offer Indonesian and western food.
"There will be also halal food which will be separated," said the Palembang Tourism Polytechnic director Zulkifli Hasan during a press conference at the Jakabaring Sports City complex at Jalan Gelora Sriwijaya, Palembang on Wednesday, February 14.

Chef Ateng or Irwandi, a culinary professor will lead his students to cook for the athletes. He said the menu will consist of light meals such as burgers, potatoes, and pasta.
"We are still considering which Indonesian menu to be served," he added.
The number of dishes will be adjusted to the number of participants or athletes of the Asian Games.
