TEMPO.CO, Denpasar - Hans Peter Schaller gets a chance to handle Bali United in the 2018 President Cup. The Austrian man replaces Widodo C. Putro.
At the press conference of the 2018 President Cup's Group D inaugural match, Schaller promises that he would not disappoint Bali United fans at the match that will be held on Friday, January 19.
“I promise to give the best in the President Cup,” Schaller said at a press conference in Kuta on Thursday, January 18.
Hans Peter Schaller is not a new face in Bali United. He was fired by Bali United at the start of 2017 Liga 1 season. In December 2017, Schaller was trusted again by Bali United but served only as a physical coach.
In the President Cup, Schaller is in charge to coach the team dominated by young players. He replaces Widodo, who is preparing the main team to face the Asian Champions League qualifying match.
He also ensures that Bali United will still play as usual. He will not change the tactics and strategies which set by Widodo.
"No tactics have been changed from Widodo, all players have been directed, and the expectations for Bali United are huge," Schaller said.
In the Asian Champions League qualifying round, Bali United beat Tampines Rovers with a final score of 3-1 on Tuesday. On the second round, they will face Thai club Chiangrai United on January 23. The winner of the match will face Shanghai SIPG, on 30 January.
In Group D 2018 President Cup, Bali United will face the inaugural match against Borneo FC at Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, on Friday, January 19.
