TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) will consider the possibility of revising the negative investments list (DNI) before the end of 2017.

"The Investment Coordinating Board will consider the possibility of revising the negative investments list, to open more sectors for foreign investment before the end of the year," BKPM chief Thomas Lembong said on Wednesday, July 26.

Thomas said that the BKPM, which acts as a key liaison and facilitator between the business world and the government, projects that the economic growth and investment will be affected by increasing commodity prices in the third and fourth quarters of this year. The investment structure becomes an important factor to ensure growth and can improve efficiency due to the reduction in the number of workers.

Retail sales were considered very weak in the second quarter, which shows customers' cautious attitude towards spending due to labor issues.

In quarter two, retail sales only grew 6.7 percent, down from the previous period's 8.0 percent.
