Eid Holiday: Bandung Zoo to Present Animal Parade

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - The Bandung Zoo has prepared a new type of entertainment for visitors during the 2017 Eid al-Fitr holiday week. Dozens of animals, such as elephants, camels, horses, bearcats, snakes, and birds will be involved in a parade in the zoo.
Animals from other zoos will be invited to participate in a play called ‘teater satwa’ or an animal theatrical play.

Bandung Zoo marketing communication Sulhan Syafii said that both events will only be held for ten days straight from June 25 to July 5.
The parade will start at 10:00 am every day for 30-45 minutes around the zoo. “Visitors will be able to take pictures with the parading animals,” he said.
The animals will be accompanied and monitored by official keepers. This is the first event the Bandung Zoo has ever held.

The zoo management has also upgraded the number of animal cages, such as the cage for a tiger, honey bears, and bearcats.
Bandung Zoo is optimistic that during the ten-day parade they will be able to attract 150,000 to 200,000 visitors.
