Basarnas: No Casualties in Garut Flooding

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National SAR Agency (Basarnas) Bandung said that there were no casualties reported during the floods that hit residential houses and roads in Garut, West Java, at predawn.


“So far, there are no casualties. The situation is under control,” Basarnas Bandung told Antara news agency in a phone interview today.


He said that the Basarnas team and other joint teams are ready to provide relief and evacuate people trapped by flooding.


The flash flooding occurred due to heavy rain that hit Garut since Monday afternoon until midnight, he said.


He said that several villages are affected by the floods.


“The floods have cut off access to Rancabango, Tarogong,” he said.
