TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Enterprises Ministry reported at least 25 state-owned enterprises (SOE) suffer from financial losses in the first quarter this year.

However, data from the ministry shows that the figure dropped from that in the same period last year, when 27 state-owned enterprises suffered from financial losses worth Rp 3.2 trillion in total.

In response to this, State-owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno said that state-owned enterprises suffering from financial losses in the first semester is a ‘common’ thing.

"In the first semester, usually many (state-owned enterprises) suffer from financial losses. In the second semester, the revenues usually start to increase,” Rini said in Bogor on Friday (28/4).

In the meantime, Secretary to the State-owned Enterprises Minister Imam Apriyanto Putro said that total financial losses suffered by those 25 state-owned enterprises reaches around Rp 3 trillion.
