TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Juanda international airport in Sidoarjo, East Java, is preparing 53 extra flights ahead of this year’s Christmas holiday and the 2017 New Year holiday.

Head of Legal and Communication Section of Juanda Airport Anom Fitranggono on Saturday said the extra flights are for several major routes including Surabaya-Jakarta and Surabaya-Denpasar.

"Several airlines have asked for extra flights before this year’s Christmas holiday and 2017 New Year holiday," Anom said, adding that between " 23-27 December and 31 December – January, the airport will operate for 24 hours.

Anom added that the airport operator will also open up special posts for passengers to find information during the holidays.
