TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named Nganjuk Regent Taufiqurrahman, and his wife, Ita Triwibawati, as suspects of corruption. KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo said that both are accused of price mark up and accepting bribes in relation to construction projects.
"It's suspected that there has been a mark up and bribery in construction projects," Agus said on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.
Agus said that the investigation warrant on both suspects had been signed last week. Agus however, refused to mention the amount of state losses incurred.
Taufiq and his wife were named as suspects following an investigation in Taufiq's workroom at the Nganjuk Regent Office, and the office of the Regional Secretary of Jombang, a position held by Taufiq's wife.
