Police Arrests Suspected Terrorist in Magetan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police's Special Counter-Terrorism Detachment 88 arrested Gatot Witono, 48, in Magetan, East Java, on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, for allegedly being a member of Neo Jamaah Islamiyah.
Based on information gathered by Tempo at the scene, the Special Detachment 88 immediately took Gatot to Surakarta, Central Java before the Central Java Police’s Mobile Brigade (Brimob) and the Surakarta Police's Forensic Team search Gatot's House.
"[We] seized several items [from Gatot's house]. We're not the one leading this operation," Surakarta Police criminal investigation unit head Comr. Saprodin said, without providing details of the items being seized.
Saprodin refused to explain further about the arrest and promised to reveal the details in Surakarta.
Magetan Police chief Adj. Comr. Agus Suprijanto also refused to provide details about Gatot's arrest. Agus said that his institution was only assigned to secure the location of the arrest.
"That's what we did after receiving the order this morning," Agus said.
During the arrest, police closed the road since morning and opened the blockage around noon.
