Bulog Ready to Sell Imported Buffalo Meat

TEMPO.CO, Subang - State-owned logistics agency Bulog announced it would immediately sell 9,000 to 10,000 tons of buffalo meat imported from India to the market.


"The selling price of the meat is Rp 65,000 per kilogram at the highest,” said Bulog Commercial Director Karyawan Gunarso on Saturday (22/10).


Karyawan added that the Bulog sells the meat to the vendors at Rp 56,000 per kilogram and from the vendors, they sell it to the market at Rp 60,000 and they may not sell it more than Rp 65,000 per kilogram.


"This is the highest retailed price set by the government,” Karwayan said.


The setting of the highest retailed price of imported buffalo meat is ment to keep the price stability of buffalo meat, including the price of beef meat.
