TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Local and foreign investors have set their sights to international pier development project in Labuan Bajo, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, said Rosana Perkasa Roeslani, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Trade (Kadin) chairman, during a press conference of Trade Tourism and Investment at the Trade Expo Indonesia 2016 in Jakarta International Expo.

“[Local] private investors are willing to develop a pier in Labuan Bajo, many have expressed their intent to me; foreign investors are interested as well,” Rosan said Thursday in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara news agency.

According to Rosan, Labuan Bajo is one of Indonesia’s most established tourist destination considering its existing infrastructure.

“Labuan Bajo is the most complete, from beauty of nature to diving facilities to yacht charter to its accomplished airport,” Rosan said.

Rosan believes that the international pier’s presence will boost Labuan Bajo tourism potential.

In response to Rosan’s statement, Trade Minister Lukita has urged investors to apply for permit to invest in the pier development project.

Enggan promises that licensing will be issued promptly.

“As for the pier, if investors apply today, the permit will be issued the following day,” Enggar concluded.
