BNPT to Set Up De-radicalization Task Force

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Head of Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police Inspector General Boy Rafli Amar said synergy among ministries and government institutions in the fight against terrorism has been going on for a long time.
Yet, he said that the synergy is now strengthened through the establishment of a task force consisting of 17 ministries and institutions, coordinated by the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT).
Boy added that the government is now more focused on early preenty measures to tackle terrorism, unlike the previous measure that was focused on arresting terrorist suspects.
In the meantime, BNPT Chairman Commissioner General Suhardi Alius said that the detailed program of the task force is being evaluated by Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto.
