TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The State Planning Agency (Bappenas) continues assessing the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD), or simply called the Great Sea Wall. Bappenas Chief, Bambang Brodjonegor, said that the evaluation will continue until October.
"Jakarta needs the Great Sea Wall," said Bambang.
Bappenas is currently assessing if the NCICD can be integrated with the North Jakarta Reclamation Project. Bambang said that it is possible to integrate the two projects. But Bappenas' main concern is how the wall can benefit Indonesia and the public.
Previously, President Joko Widodo has assigned the Bappenas to finish the NCICD assessment. Once the evaluation is completed, all bay areas on the NCICD site will adjust.
As for the Jakarta Bay Reclamation, the Forestry Ministry views that there are two analysis aspect on the environmental impact on the G island that have been completed.
