TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - All pedestrian bridges in Jakarta will be evaluated, according to said Head of Jakarta Transportation Agency Andri Yansyah.

"All the bridges will be definitely evaluated," said Andri in Jakarta, Sunday (25/9).

On Saturday (24/9), a pedestrian bridge on Jl Raya Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, collapsed at around 3:20 pm.

Three people were killed and six others were injured in the incident.

Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama a few hours after the incident wrote on his Twitter account that his administration will evaluate the installation of billboards in the bridges.

"My apologies and condolences on the casualties in the collapse of a pedestrian bridge in Pasar Minggu. In the future we will evaluate the installation of billboards advertising in the bridges," Basuki said through his Twitter account @basuki_btp.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Transportation Agency handed over the investigation of the cause of the collapsed to the police.

Responding on the possibility of the collapse due to the billboard, Andri said it could happen especially when the wind is very strong.

"The wind is too strong. It could have been because of the billboard. But, for sure, let the authorities investigate it," Andri said.
