Minister Gives 1 Month to Pelindo to Address Dwelling Time Issue

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi will summon the management of state-owned airport operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) I-IV this afternoon to evaluate the dwelling time issue in loading and unloading of goods at several major ports in Indonesia.
"On the issue of dwelling time, we should earnestly carry out internal improvements. All sides should do introspection, work simultaneously, and make this dwelling time issue as a priority," Budi said in its official statement on Saturday (17/9).
Budi also called on the management of Pelindo I-IV to work professionally, proactively, progressively, and not to blame the other paries.
"I also hope Pelindo will do intensive coordination under the direction of the Director General of Sea Transportation Ministry," he added.
Budi also hopes that the evaluation with various corrections given to to Pelindo I-IV will be immediately implemented so that there is a significant improvement.
For the completion of the dwelling time issue, Budi added, he has given at least one-month deadline to be met.
A few days ago, Budi added that he had discussed it with the Chief of the Indonesian National Police related to law enforcement on the ground.
