TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama says that the odd-and-even license plate traffic system to reduce the number of vehicles on the main roads in Jakarta has been effective, compared to the previous 3 in 1 traffic system.
"It's better than the 3 in 1 policy but of course, it is not as effective as the electronic road pricing (ERP) system," said Ahok Friday, August 26, 2016.
The trial of the odd-and-even system has been finished and is set to be officially implemented by August 30.
The Governor said that the odd and even traffic system is not difficult to be implemented. "If he uses fake license plate, we can track it," he said.
"The odd and even traffic system is already correct. We need to extend it," said Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, Head of Jakarta Legislative Council.
