KPK to Question N. Sumatra Governor over DPRD Corruption Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is scheduled to question North Sulawesi Governor Tengku Erry Nuradi today in relation to the bribery case of North Sumatra Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) member that has entangled the former North Sumatra governor Gatot Pudjo Nugroho.


“To be questioned as a witness for M.A.” said KPK spokesperson Yuyuk Andriati Iskak in Jakarta today. M.A. is the initials of North Sumatra DPRD member Muhammad Affan. Affan has been named as suspect for allegedly accepting bribes on Thursday, June 16, 2016, along with six other DPRD members.


In the case, the KPK has brought Gatot, DPRD Speaker Ajib Shah and his colleague Saleh Bangun, Chaidir Ritonga, Kamaluddin Harahap and Sigit Pramono Asri to court. The six of them have been convicted in court.


Last week, the KPK named seven other suspects after developing the case. They were Muhammad Affan, Budiman Pardamean Nadapdap, Guntur Manurung, Zulkifli Efendi Siregar, Bustami H.S., Zulkifli Husin and Parluhutan Siregar.


They represent different political parties, such as th Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI P), the People’s Conscience Party (Hanura), the National Mandate Party (PAN), Democratic Party and the United Development Party (PPP).
