TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will question four people over a bribery case to unearth the flow of money in connection with the deliberation of two bylaws on the Jakarta Bay reclamation projects.

"The KPK will question four people related to a corruption suspect Mohamad Sanusi," KPK spokesperson Yuyuk Andriati stated on Thursday.

General Manager of Credit and Treasury of PT Bank Mitraniaga Handry Hussein, Legal Director of PT Agung Podomoro Land Miarni Ang, and Tekno Wibowo and Ali Hanafi Lijaya from the private sector will face the KPKs interrogation.

"They will be examined as witnesses in the case involving Sanusi," Yuyuk remarked.

In addition, Jakarta city councilor Mohamad Sanusi of the Gerindra Party is scheduled to be questioned as a suspect by the KPK.

The KPK had earlier named President Director of PT Agung Podomoro Land Ariesman Widjaja as a suspect for allegedly paying Rp2 billion in bribes to Chairman of the Gerindra Party faction in the Jakarta Legislative Assembly Sanusi in connection with the deliberation of draft bylaws on the zoning plan for Jakartas coastal area and small isles for the 2015-2035 period and on the spatial plans for the strategic North Jakarta coastal area.

On Thursday, March 31, the KPK had confiscated evidence in the form of cash worth Rp1.14 billion of the total Rp2 billion committed amount paid by Ariesman to Sanusi through personal assistant of PT Agung Podomoro Land Trinanda Prihantoro. The draft bylaws have been discussed for the past several months, but the Jakarta provincial government and the Jakarta legislative assembly have yet to reach an agreement over them.

The Jakarta provincial government has demanded a contribution of 15 percent of the sales value of the effective land from reclamation, reaching 58 percent of the total area.

Meanwhile, several lawmakers have demanded a smaller contribution, totaling only five percent.

No confirmation has yet been given on whether Sugianto has also bribed Sanusi or other lawmakers.

If proven guilty, Sanusi will face a prison sentence of up to 20 years and a fine of up to Rp1 billion, while Widjaja will have to serve a five-year jail term and pay a maximum fine of Rp250 million.
