Papua to Build 4,600 Subsidized Houses

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Regional Administrative Board of Indonesian Real Estate (DPD REI) of Papua aimed to build 5,500 houses in 2016, most of which are subsidized.
"We aim to build 5,500 units, 4,600 of which are subsidized, a part of the Housing Funding Liquidity Facility program (FLPP)," said Head of DPD REI of Papua, Nelly Suryani, in Jayapura Monday, June 6, 2016.
She said that by the end of May 2016, REI Papua is able to realize 26 percent of the target.
"From January to May, we have built 1,200 units," he said.
Suryani claimed that there has been several problems, such as decreasing consumerism.
Moroever, government’s policy which aims to encourage investment is still not well-responded. Therefore, development is stalled.
"Some people in the region has not understood about the permit. They are still using old regulations," he said.
