Citilink to Open 9 Additional Flights During Ramadan and Eid Day

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost airline Citilink is set to open 9 additional flights in several major cities in Indonesia ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
“There will be nine additional flights but at separate times,” said Director for Trade of Citilink, Hans Nugroho in Kuta, Bali on Wednesday.
According to him the nine additional flights among others will serve flights in Padang, Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Medan and Makassar. As for Bali, he went on, there will be two additional flights that would make it seven flights.
The additional flights is being prepared to anticipate a hike in flight frequency that is predicted to occur seven days from and after Eid al-Fitr. The hike in flight frequency usually occurs two weeks before fasting month ends, he went on.
“We have seen a hike [in flight frequency] but only 20 percent to 30 percent. It usually increased [further] two weeks before fasting month ends,” he said.
Some 3,200 passengers are expected to be carried by the nine additional round trip flights.
“Nine round trip flights two weeks from and after Eid al-Fitr are expected to carry 3,200 passengers,” he said.
