TEMPO.CO, South Tangerang - Public monitoring app Qlue developer claimed that the government would work with Qlue to monitor the Plastic Bag Diet Program.
Qlue marketing communication executive Muhammad Agung Prabowo said that the application had received numerous reports in connection with the pay-per-plastic bag program in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi. Agung added that the Environment and Forestry Ministry had mulled to make Qlue as the official app to monitor the program.
“Qlue encourages every city to accelerate public services. The government and the community must actively participate in realizing the goal. As a public monitoring app, we can reach the whole country. Therefore, the government is interested to make Qlue as the official app to monitor the pay-per-plastic bag program,” Agung said on Saturday, April 30, 2016, in a seminar held by the Osoji Jakarta Community at AEON Mall, BSD city, South Tangerang.
Agung explained that the Ministry’s campaign team had met Qlue developers and mulled cooperation to monitor the program. Therefore, Agung said that the Qlue team would upgrade the app to facilitate the plastic bag diet program monitoring and strengthen its data for the Ministry.
“We’re still waiting for a follow up from the Ministry. We also need to coordinate with regional governments that public will use Qlue. So, if this was to be implemented, the central government must notify regional governments,” Agung added.
According to Agung, Qlue will serve a function to provide data on retailers that have not implemented the pay-per-plastic bag program. Therefore, Agung said that Qlue would be able to find a solution to reduce public’s dependence on plastic bags.
