Explosions Occur at Brussels Airport, Metro Station

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two explosions occurred at a departure hall in Brussels Airport on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Belgian news agency reported, as quoted by Reuters, some heard shouting in Arabic and gunshots before the explosions.
"There were two blasts in the departure hall. First aid teams are in place for help," said the airport spokeswoman Anne Fransen said, as quoted by the Associated Press, Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
Local authorities said that at least one person was confirmed dead during the incident. However, Police said that the number is likely to rise.
"One person has died and perhaps there are several more," said a police officer who wishes to remain anonymous.
Following the airport explosions, another explosion was heard at the Maelbeek metro station near the European Union headquarters. Belgian metro operator STB immediately announced that the metro was closed down for public.
The explosions occurred just days after the prime suspect of the Paris attacks Salah Abdeslam was arrested in Brussels.
