Land Transport DG Resign over Christmas Holidays Traffic

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Ministry of Transport Director General of Land Transport Djoko Sasono on Saturday, December 26, officially announced his resignation over the horrendous traffic jam on Christmas eve.
“As an expression of my responsibility, I resign,” Sasono said in a media conference at his office on Saturday.
Heavy congestion hit a majority of cities across Indonesia, especially in Java on Wednesday and Thursday, December 23 and 24, with people leaving big cities over the long weekend.
Besides handing in his resignation, Sasono expressed his apologies to the people that had to endure gridlock in toll roads.
“It is entirely my responsibility, and I apologize for it,” he said.
He also apologized to public transport operators that are also impacted.
