TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Suspect of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) corruption, Fahmi Zulfikar, claimed that he is ready to step down from his post at the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) of Jakarta. "If my faction asks me to, I will," he said. "Don’t punish me before there is a verdict.”
Fahmi refused to comment if there are other lawmakers involved in the case. "I told you all I know. Asks investigators. Don’t ask me. I don’t want to mix politics and law," said Fahmi.
The corruption case was revealed following a finding on price mark up over Rp5.8 billion per UPS unit in Regional Budget 2014. In fact, a 40 kilovolt ampere UPS will only cost Rp100 million.
