TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The meeting between the government and delegation of the international football governing body FIFA on case settlement of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has passed for almost a month. However there are no significant result from the meeting.

The conditions return to heat the relationship between government and PSSI. The organization that is led by La Nyalla Mattalitti blamed the stagnantion of the PSSI case to the government. "They're keeping the conflict," said Aristo Pangaribuan, Legal Director of PSSI, on Monday, November 23.

Aristo said follow-up of the football reform will run smoothly if the government followed FIFA’s orders to send representatives to the ad hoc committee. Unfortunately, the government refused to join saying that the substance of the formation of the committee is unclear. "In fact, the FIFA delegation will report result of the formation of the committee in its executive meeting on December 2," said Aristo.

The ad hoc committee is a forum to be set up by FIFA to resolve the Indonesian football dispute. It contains representatives of all interested parties, including the government. The plan to form this committee then began a polemic because FIFA announced it after meeting with PSSI on 2nd November.

In the meeting between FIFA delegation and President Joko Widodo agreed on forming a small team to resolve the PSSI conflict. The government claimed not notified by FIFA on the establishment of the ad hoc committee, and refused to send their representatives to the committee.

On the other hand, PSSI sent a list of names, including former Chairman of PSSI Agum Gumelar, former national team manager I Gusti Kompyang Manila, as well as spokesman for the Bung Karno Complex Raja Pane, to the ad hoc committee. Secretary General of PSSI Aswan Karim previously stated, when representatives of the ad hoc committee is complete, they will begin meeting this week. "The first meeting will be attended by representatives of the FIFA delegation," he said two weeks ago.

Aristo said that until now there are no direction from FIFA on the continuation of the ad hoc committee. He considered the FIFA chose silence because the government was not interested in joining. Aristo said, FIFA does not act because of formation of the committee will not achieve maximum results without government involvement.

The Gatot S. Dewabroto, spokesman for the Ministry of Sports, reiterated that the government would not join the ad hoc committee if FIFA did not send the terms of reference of the committee. The Government, he said, had requested it by telephone to James Johnson, FIFA delegation spokesman, about two weeks ago, but there is no response until now.

"If FIFA has explained the terms of reference of the committee, we certainly will review whether to join or not," he said.

Gatot added that the government also has not formed a small team, although FIFA has requested immediately to sent a member of the team. According to Gatot, the formulation team is still being studied between the institution and the Presidential Staff.

“Soon we send names of the members. We are not trying to buy time," said Gatot. Unfortunately, Gatot does not guarantee giving the name before the meeting with FIFA executives. While PSSI assess the meeting as the beginning of Indonesia’s liberation from FIFA suspension. "We have no direction from the leadership," said Gatot.
