Haze Still Hits Riau as 111 Hot Spots Detected in Sumatra

TEMPO.CO , Pekanbaru - Tera and Aqua satellite is still detecting 111 hot spots, which indicated forest and peat lands in Sumatra. The number of hot spots, nevertheless, has dropped from the previous 693 hot spots two days ago.
Yet, Riau province is still blanketed with haze.
"Hot spots were detected at 5 am on Saturday morning,” said Head of Pekanbaru Station of the Badan Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Sugarin on Saturday (3/10).
Sugarin also said that hot spots were mostly found in Sumatera Selatan (90 hot spots), Lampung (14 hot spots) and Bangka Belitung (3 hot spots), while in Riau, no hot spot was detected.
