TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The suspect in the alleged bribery of Medan Administrative Court Otto Cornelius (OC) Kaligis refused to be interrogated by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The senior lawyer argued that he objected to the ways of the anti-corruption commission treating him.

One of them, said Kaligis firmly, related to the health. He said that some time ago KPK’s doctor has advised him to do health check to a specialist doctor. "But it was not granted (by KPK). This is the examples of persecution against me, violating human rights," said OC Kaligis in a statement on Friday, July 31.

"In my position as a suspect, I hereby affirm that I don’t want to be checked again, as witness and the evidences. I'm not burdened again the burden of proof," continued the statement.

It was re-affirmed by member of lawyers team of OC Kaligis. According to Johnson Pandjaitan, his team even being denounces alleged violations of human rights (HAM) to the National Commission for Human Rights (Komnas HAM). Therefore, KPK alleged to have isolated Kaligis from his lawyer and his family while in custody.

"And Komnas HAM has taken steps to this. Our reports are deprivation of liberty, arrest, detention, and also isolation," said Johnson Panjaitan, on Friday, July 31, at the KPK building, South Jakarta.

Johnson also explained that his client refused to be interrogated today, including as a witness. Kaligis, according to Johnson, then asked KPK to quickly assign his case to the courts.

"He (Kaligis) was placed in a special room that should not be out and communicate to everywhere. It is the practice of existing insulation in (Rutan) Guntur," added Johnson.
