TEMPO.CO, Semarang - On Thursday, July 30, 2015, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo reminded Indonesian Armed Forces and Police to face critical attitude from the public and asked to respect diversity.

“Critics are to be heard for improvement, do not pertpetuate ancient hegemony,” Jokowi said at the Police Academy Semarang.

Jokowi said the rapid community development and dynamics along with critical role of the media should be faced with adjustment. “The attitude must be understood within the national and global environment,” he said.

The Armed Forces and Police are currently facing diversity and difference. Those differences are expected not to become a source of conflict but to make diversity as the nation’s adhesive, said Jokowi.

Jokowi expect the Armed Forces and Police to build communications link and kinship. The message was addressed as a mandate because the President believes that they are the next generation.
